June 4 1-5p Anatomy Intensive 4 of 4: The Hinges at Woodlands Yoga Studio
Curious what it takes to get the heels down in down dog or a nice low chair pose? Or why the knees are so frequently injured in hip openers? What’s up with elbow hyperextension and carrying angles and how do you tell the difference? How can you best protect the wrists for vinyasa practice and arm balances? How can you get the spine to move more like a rainbow and less like a hinge? In this intensive, we will explore the joints we want to function as hinges (ankles, knees, elbows and wrists) and joints we don’t want to function as hinges (the neck and low back). This intensive is eligible for credit in WYS 300hr advanced YTT, and builds on the previous 3 in this series (BCPF, Hips and Shoulders). This intensive is designed for students who have attended all 3 of the previous in the series, but we are opening it to 1. those who have attended only 1 of the previous, 2. past students of Stefanie's workshops and intensives, 3. experienced teachers
April 9 1-5p Anatomy Intensive 3 of 4: Shoulders at Woodlands Yoga Studio
Curious about the flexibility required for shoulder binds, poses with the arms in the overhead plane and backbends? Or the stability required to safely execute poses like chaturanga and arm balances? We will examine the inner and outer workings of the shoulder with respect to both these ideas and explore ways to create balance. This intensive is eligible for credit in WYS 300hr advanced YTT, but all teachers and serious students are welcome.

This Houston Methodist Research Institute Symposium is designed for health care providers interested in the latest treatments of pelvic floor disorders for men and women. Stefanie will be part of a panel discussion on complementary and alternative medicine.

Tuesdays 12-1 on November 12, 19, December 3, 10, 17. This series will be slower than a typical yoga class, more hands-on adjustments, beginner-friendly, appropriate for individuals who: 1. Have a current injury provided you have permission from your medical provider (modifications can be provided to accommodate working around or with the injury) 2. Have less than 1 year of consistent, regular yoga practice or 3. Are more experienced in yoga who wants to reinforce and refine foundations of a safe and healthy yoga practice
